Guidelines on Stories Seeked by Voice Within
We accept unpublished, original pieces from myth to legend, fairytale to folk tale, tall tale,
personal stories and traditional stories from country and land.Short Stories(4500 words max.)
Poetry, an ode.
A Written letter (1000 words max.) A written letter to the state
of the World, to a lover, to a personal societal concern, of a celebration, to yourself, to another, a freedom of expression of one’s mind.
With a small submission fee ($10.00 + $0.99 transaction fee per submission) your story
will be celebrated and published in the Voice Within publication (released bi-ennially),
published via social media platforms. Showcased at festivals and industry events.
You will also have your story narrated on the Voice Within podcast.
In turn, you receive a passive income for your written pieces.
*Submissions close Monday, 30th June 2025.Submission fees go towards the final yearly publication and podcast production.
*Short Stories, Poems and Letter themes include:
Overcoming adversity, empowerment, connection to people or place, sense of purpose, sense of belonging, nature, expression through art and
experiences of Art, observations of one’s mind or the simple things in life,
celebration of community, lack of community in your life.
*Short Story 4500 word limit. Written Letter 1000 word limit- any pieces over this limit will not be read.
Any pieces which do not speak of the above themes will not be accepted.
Any stories not in the specified story categories above will not be accepted.
Any pieces that are not original will not be accepted.
We do not accept pieces which discriminate, use violent, divisive or harmful connotations or language,
which could harm a culture or individual.
